News and Announcements

November, 2009:
Annually, an estimated half million pets are affected by fires in the United States and more than 40,000 pets die each year due to smoke inhalation. With the right equipment, police, fire and emergency medical services (EMS) rescuers can often save a pet’s life. Losing a pet in a house fire can be devastating experience for a family member. Pet oxygen masks are effective with dogs, cats and other companion animals, but only if they are on hand at the scene of an emergency.

Conway Animal Clinic is accepting donations to purchase pet oxygen masks for every fire truck in Conway! A set of masks for each truck will cost $75, this includes small, medium and large size masks.

You can donate by stopping by our clinic or mailing your donation to 1320 E. Oak Street, Conway, AR 72032. Any size donation will be greatly appreciated!

K-9 Officers got the protection they needed!

Officer Taxi showing off his new vest

When we started this program to purchase bullet proof vests for our K-9 Officers, we never expected that we would have received the great response from the community.  The employees of Conway Animal Clinic started collecting money after learning that protective vests are not purchased by the departments.   We made a unanimous decision to help these K-9 Officers.  Donations collected in 2005 to 2006 helped vest five K-9 officers that did not have protection before.  We were able to help not only Faulkner County Sheriff’s Department and Conway Police Department but also Heber Springs Police Department and Morrilton Police Department.  Thanks to Lifetek Armor, Inc.’s Terry Nelson for giving us a special price for the vests so we can get more for our money. This was a wonderful way to help protect the dogs that protect us not to mention they are family pets of their handlers.  Thanks to all that helped with this project and made donations, we and the Officers appreciate it!
